"Affordable" means different things to different people, so here's what it means to us: a written price before we start, no padding for things the site doesn't need, spoils kept on your property whenever they can be, and equipment sized to the job so you're not paying for a 20-ton excavator to dig a 50-foot trench.

Where the savings actually are

Most of the cost in excavation is time and trucks. We save you both by planning: figuring out the cut-and-fill balance so material moves once instead of twice, grouping outlying work so travel doesn't land on your invoice, and telling you when a smaller job — a regrade instead of a footing drain, a partial pool removal instead of a full one — will solve the problem.

We also tell you when it won't. A driveway that's had the same potholes for five years has a failed base; re-stoning it is cheap this year and expensive over ten. A basement that's wet under hydrostatic pressure doesn't get fixed by longer downspouts. Affordable is the right job at a fair price, not the cheapest bid on the wrong one.
