Rushville and Potter sit on the high farm ground between Canandaigua and Keuka lakes along Routes 245 and 247 — open, rolling, mostly clay, and nearly all on wells and septic. It's some of the easiest excavation in our area, and we do a lot of it: ponds, septic, driveways, and pads for the pole barns and shops that go up on every other parcel.

The area is a center of Mennonite farming and small business, and we work regularly with those owners on farm ponds, drainage tile outlets, equipment-shed pads, and the trenching that ties new buildings into water and power.

Older farmsteads mean older structures, and we take down barns and outbuildings that have finished their useful lives, then clear and grade the site. On the ridge edges where the ground starts to drop toward either lake, shale shows up and the work changes; we'll say when.
