Gravel, stone, and topsoil delivery in Canandaigua and the Finger Lakes

We haul a lot of material for our own work, and we deliver for homeowners and contractors who need stone, gravel, topsoil, or fill without the excavation. Single-axle loads for a small driveway top-off up to tri-axle loads for a new construction site.

Most of what we deliver comes from quarries and pits in Ontario and Livingston counties: crusher run for driveway and pad bases, #1 and #2 washed limestone for driveway surfaces and drainage, pea stone for walkways and around foundations, screened topsoil for lawns and gardens, and clean fill for grading. If you need something we don't stock, we'll source it.

Delivery can be a dump-and-go or we can bring the skid steer and spread it. Tell us where you want it and whether the truck can get there — a tri-axle needs room to turn around.

Choosing the right material for Ontario County ground

The single most common question we get is what to put on a driveway. For a base, crusher run — every time. For the surface, a #1 crushed limestone on flat drives and #2 on slopes where you need bigger stone to stay put. Pea stone is for walkways, not driveways; it rolls, ruts, and ends up in the lawn.

Topsoil around the lake is thin and builders rarely replace what they strip. If you're seeding a new lawn, four to six inches of screened topsoil across the area makes a permanent difference. We deliver by the cubic yard; a typical suburban front yard takes 15 to 30 yards.

For drainage work, use washed stone, not crusher run. The fines in crusher run clog the pipe. Clean #1 or #2 washed stone around perforated pipe, wrapped in fabric, is what a French drain needs to keep working for 30 years.
